Today was our first full day on Koh Phi Phi Island. I managed to get a whole 5 hours of sleep last night! Joanna woke up a little after me at 5:30. We considered going out to the beach and watching the sunrise but it was cloudy and windy outside.
I still can’t shake this jet lag. Yesterday, I tried staying up as late as possible so I could sleep longer last night but I still woke a little after 3am.
I’m pretty pissed about today, but I’ll tough through it and get this blog post out before I run out of steam.
The flight to Bangkok went really smoothly. I think it took about 25 hours to get to our final destination where we flew LAX > SF > Hong Kong > Bangkok.
About 80% of a vacation for Joanna and me is spent seeking out new foods to eat. The other 20% is time in between meals until we get hungry again or find another tasty thing to try. Today was no exception.
I have to say this has been the best night sleep since I got to asia. The bed and pillow were super soft and comfy. Slept from 5:30-11:30am and then went downstairs for breakfast/lunch.
So we just checked into our hostel in Bangkok. It’s called the Smile Society. So far so good, I think it’s about $15 USD a night per person, there’s breakfast and wifi included. We’ll be staying here for 3 days and moving on to Laos.
