Today was a really long day. I haven’t fully adjusted to the time zone change and woke up about an hour after I posted my blog last night at 3am, and went to sleep for another hour from 5:30-7. We put together a list of places we wanted to check out from our ideas pool and started the morning at 7-11 for breakfast. I have to say that grad school would be MUCH easier if I had these super cheap and delicious sushis at home.

I’ve been up for about 26 hours with a few small naps during the flight but I need to make sure I keep this blog up otherwise I’ll fall behind.

It’s been a REALLY long day. Couldn’t sleep last night because I was so excited to getting started on the trip. I only got about an hour and a half of sleep and by 1:30am, I was wide awake.

I’m really excited to be doing another Asia trip and have been looking forward to doing this for quite some time. I was in Japan in 2015 with my siblings and had such a great trip I felt like there was too much to cram into one vacation.

After a long 7 hour train ride from Hiroshima we arrived in Tokyo to wrap up our trip. By now we are exhausted from doing the tourist thing.

When I initially worked out plan B, I didn’t realize how much train travel we had to do to get to our destinations. It took about 6 hours to get from Osaka to Onjuku.

So even though we didn’t go to Okinawa, the typhoon still had an affect on our trip here in Onjuku. The change in water temperature from the typhoon created some very large and choppy waves so we weren’t able to continue our surf lessons yesterday.

I’m really amazed at how we randomly happened to come to Onjuku. It’s just a tiny town that has just a small handful of traffic lights and not even a single 7-11.

I’ve skipped a few days worth of posts because honestly there hasn’t been much to report.
