Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone! I’ve been running 3 days behind on blog posts because I was cramming for my a Japanese chapter test on Tuesday that was really stressing me out.

We’re currently staying at the Cordis Hotel in Mon Kok for the week we’re in Hong Kong. Kimberly found it for like $150 a night and it has 2 bedrooms and 1.25 bath which is really convenient for the 3 of us. One of the major selling points of the hotel is that they have daily tai chi classes every morning at 9am that you can sign up for.

In preparation of meeting Popo, I spent some time gathering and scanning old pictures to show her from photo albums we had at home. She likes looking at photos and she has a tablet she uses to watch tv shows and video call family members. Here are a few interesting ones I’ve found.

We are out of the 3 day restaurant quarantine now! I wanted to spend a little bit explaining how it all worked. Quick story on how my Chinese family ended up in Minnesota: My mom was born and raised in Hong Kong and decided to study abroad at Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis for her senior year of high school.

Covid protocols here in Hong Kong are in one word: Strict. Yesterday, it was 75f with 80% humidity. We were walking outside on the way to the subway to meet my cousin Tim and his husband John for lunch and noticed that everyone kept their masks on even after leaving a building.

Earlier this year, my sister Kimberly and I were discussing the possibility of going to Hong Kong to visit our Popo (maternal grandmother in Cantonese) considering Covid restrictions around the world were loosening up.

I wanted to keep an ongoing list of travel tips I learned from things that I did or wished I did while on the trip. This is my ongoing list, in no particular order

Ok I got side tracked in my last post because I started thinking about the puppies I saw today so let me start over…

It’s 2am right now, I’m sitting on the floor of my uncle’s house trying not to pass out. Today was a super busy day and unfortunately, it rushed past super quickly.
