We didn’t really have any hard plans today as the main thing to do in Granada was to go see the Alhambra. Our Airbnb was just 2 blocks away from the Cathedral in Granada. In the mornings we’ve walked past it, streams of tour groups would be seen walking in and out of it so we figured we should probably go check it out.
When you visit Granada, you go see the Alhambra. That’s like THE THING you do when you’re in town. I didn’t do any research behind it, I just booked tickets a few weeks back because people told me to. I shared a pic from the previous night of us at the lookout point of the Alhambra which was a beautiful view.
It’s train day! One of my favorite travel days of a trip because I love riding trains so much. They’re fast, efficient, and a very comfortable way of getting around.
Now that we got all the shopping done yesterday, today was a day to get out of the crowds and immerse ourselves in the fancy schmancy culture of Madrid. *pinkie up*
Yesterday was our first full day in Madrid. A co worker of mine recommended that we check out El Rasto Market which is a flea market only available on Sundays. We grabbed a quick breakfast at a bakery and then walked about 20 minutes to the outdoor market. I was not expecting there to be SO many people.
The trip to Madrid went pretty smoothly. It took 8 hours to fly from Minneapolis to Amsterdam. I watched a movie and worked on this blog so really only got a 20 minute nap in. Arrived at 6am local time which was like 10pm at home. 3 hour layover and then a 2.5 hour flight to Madrid.
Before I jump into trip stuff we’ve got to start with the life updates first! I had my regular 6 month oncology check up at Mayo clinic with Dr. Costello.
