K I need to address something that’s been bothering me the last few days but I didn’t really have a good way of communicating it. My mom’s been doing her own “research” in trying to help me with dealing with treatment and cancer overall. I got this video from her a few days ago which made me really upset with the level of BS that they spout. At the risk of giving them more clicks, I’ll post it here so I can illustrate my point.

For those that are allergic to BS, here are some tidbits from the video:

  • The enemies of humanity established the cancer industry and made it into a business
  • Eat wheat bud because it’s a miraculous anti cancer medicine and it contains the strongest anti cancer matter

I did my own “research” to show her that anyone can google natural cancer fighting remedies from the internet. This article is from https://www.cancertutor.com/shrinktumors/

  • Modern medicine, with its firm grasp of the art of making huge amounts of profits, has totally brainwashed the public into thinking that the size of every tumor is important in a cancer treatment. In many cases shrinking the tumor is critical. However, orthodox medicine frequently shrinks tumors which are irrelevant to the survival of the patient
  • Dr. Johanna Budwig claimed that tumors were created specifically because of a lack of electron-rich molecules on the surface of cell walls. Her protocol was excellent at shrinking tumors quickly. In addition to the Budwig Diet, the product Cellect can also shrink tumors. The Budwig Diet and Cellect are very synergistic. Cellect contains, among many other products, shark cartilage, which is known to shrink tumors.
  • For those on a budget, the Kelmun Protocol (baking soda and maple syrup) has done very well at shrinking tumors. It is both a highly alkaline protocol and it contains a “trojan horse” (maple syrup) to allow the baking soda to target cancer cells.

These resources are basically natural selection for the sick that are ready to believe there’s some sort of conspiracy in the medical industry. It just makes me really mad that people out there are taking advantage of others in need.

Yesterday I had my PET scan which is meant to detect cancerous tissue in the entire body. While I’ve been cleared to not have tumors in the brain, abdomen, and testicles, this was a final check to make sure that nothing was missed.

The previous day I wasn’t allowed to have sugar in my system so I basically had to do the keto diet, which meant no carbs, sugar, or caffeine. I arrived at Methodist at 7am and Annette, the nurse checked me into the nuclear radiology department. I was lead to a small room with a heated recliner (very fancy) and was told to get comfortable. She pulled out a very heavy metal thermos looking container saying that the solution that they’ll be injecting me with is radioactive and they keep it in the thermos because it’s lead lined. She pulled out a small box that had a radioactive material label on it and inside of it, a lead lined syringe.

The way that the PET scan works is that they inject with you with a sugar based radioactive solution that runs through your whole body and the scan will look for all organs in your body that consume sugar for energy. Tumors also consume sugar for energy and so they’ll light up in the scan results.

I was not expecting this but Annette gave me a warm blanket and said that I needed to stay in the room which was ALSO lead lined for one hour until the solution has fully run through my body. As she walked out, the door closed automatically and locked itself so I couldn’t escape…I mean leave. I took the time to do some paperwork on my phone, watch the Egypt-Uruguay game, and wonder if I’ll start glowing soon.

I farted in the room and realized that’s probably why the room is lead lined, to avoid any radioactive gasses from leaking out. After an hour the door unlocked and opened automatically. Annette lead me into a room to perform the scan. Same procedure as before: lay still while I get moved in and out of a big loud machine.

The scan took about 20 min. While I laid there, bored, I realized that I couldn’t poke on my phone or take a nap. I really should work on reading up on the meditation stuff. After the scan, I was instructed to not get near any pregnant women, babies, or small children as my body will be radioactive for the next day and I needed to drink as much water as humanely possible to flush out the solution.

Given that I was a slight danger to the public, I decided to go to work to visit my co workers. They asked if I had any super powers yet, the only one that I had so far was being able to pee every 20 minutes.

I received a call from Dr. Rabenau as I was leaving work saying that she’s decided to change my treatment plan to a combination called VIP

V = Etoposide Phosphate (VePesid)
I = Ifosfamide
P = Cisplatin (Platinol)

This one would be less toxic to my lungs and more favorable as I need to do surgery afterwards but it is more intense than the BEP combination. I guess it’s the same treatment that Lance Armstrong used for his testicular cancer. This means that I’ll for sure need to be admitted to the hospital for every day that I do chemo so they can monitor me.

I told her that we’re still trying to get connected with the Mayo clinic to get a 2nd opinion with Dr. Costello who has written papers on germ cell tumors. She said she’s familiar with his work and will call his office to see if they can squeeze me in. I’m so glad that she was open and willing to help us out because I got a call back a few hours later from Mayo saying that they can see me next Tuesday afternoon with Dr. Costello.

Next week will be busy, I have my port installation on Monday morning, making a “deposit” at the bank on Tuesday morning, going to Mayo for my appointment in the afternoon, staying the night in Rochester, and my dad’s biopsy is Wednesday morning, then follow up deposit on Friday.

I feel like my time right now is spent scheduling appointments and then attending them.
